creepy six legged stripped star fish

some how a small one got sucked up during my last water change and I had set it on the porch and forgot to dump the water out. When I opened it today a month later it is alive and moving to my surprise. Are these good or bad? Should I put it back in my tank?

Micro/dwarf/really small brittle stars are a boon to the tank. Great scavengers and harm nothing of note. If it's white and somewhat mishappen (uneven) then it's most likely an asterina star as above though there are species of asterinas that eat zoas.

Well I put it back in my tank after I made that post during my water change. I felt it needed rewarding for surviving summer heat in a bucket of old hot water. I haven't seen it since it ran into a crevice of my rock.
