Creole fish

Passer of gasses
I picked up 2 Paranthias furcifer at my LFS Monday. Beautiful little fish. Purple in color and about 3 " long. I believe there in the basslet family. Anybody have or know much about them?

wrasse family. they get to be about a foot long. never had one in a reef but should be ok with the corals. your cuc might not fare so well though

The creole wrasee is Clepticus parrae

The creole fish is Paranthias furcifer which is a basslet (Family Serranidae) As you can proably see from the genus name related to Anthias . Zoo plankton feeder your CUC should be fine. They are from the Atlantic

Wonderful fish I miss mine jumped out the back. Ignored everyone else in the tank ate everything you could ever want to feed and seems impervious to disease.

beware that they grow pretty large compared to regular anthias. Can grow up to 3/4 of foot . Shy at first but will be bold and mean. Will take flakes peletts and sea food with gusto.
Had one for 5 years but jumped to carpet....
Nice fish just do keep with smaller fish...

Here's a couple of pics.
