Crest and lagoon modes ?

When I'm in constant mode at 50% and change mode to lagoon or crest, the speed drops down quite a lot,is this normal?

Also when both pumps are on crest or lagoon mode is it normal that they don't turn at maximum speed even if the dial is adjusted to maximum speed?
Cause it seems to me the speed is not as high when it does get to it's maximum speed as compare to constant mode when running full speed. It's as if they were at reduced speed.

Hello,

The random mode cycles are presented below:

Note that the speeds are reduced some percentage below what your maximum speed setting. At certain points in the random cycles you will run the pump at the specific speed setting, but most of the random cycle time is below the user set maximum speed.

Are the times at the bottom of the graph minutes or seconds? I've had mine setup on both lagoon and Reef Crest and I'm having trouble detecting any changes in the pump speed. If it is changing very slowly over time, maybe I'm missing it, but the reef crest diagram looks like a large change in speed.

I didn't notice speed change in reef crest mode either. I set the speed at maximum.
Giovanni, did you find anything?

I have not pursued it anymore. I have mine running constant speed mode being controlled by the Aquasurf.

If you watch it long enough you'll see the changes are made slowly.I also thought there wasn't any chages at the beginning.
I really like the way they operate!

It changes just slowly, I have mine in Reef Crest and can tell when its in a low cycle by the noise and you can also feel the external pump. Its cooler to the touch :)

Regarding Crest Mode - if we set the slave pump to be opposite of the master, will it run at the opposite speed from the master? So in the above graph posted by Ecotech, when the master is at 90-100%, the slave will be running at 10%? And do the two speeds always total 100%? Meaning master at 80%, slave at 20%? Master at 50%, slave at 50%? Etc etc....

I'm looking to get the flow in my tank to change directions regularly, so the corals will get flow in both directions. Rather than flow mainly in one direction, with odd coral growth due to this.

Can you run the slave in opposition though? I don't know if I'm thinking of something else but I thought you can only run in opposition in pulse mode.

The pumps will anti-sync in either of the two random modes, so it would effectively be running the same graph but upside down.
