So, anything you would recommend in place of something I'm using, or any kind of lighting? I'm totally at a loss for lighting. I thought I knew what I wanted but im not sure now. I just want something that looks decent (no big black box) but I'm totally leaning towards LEDs and I'd like to stay under $1000.

Tank- 48*30t*24w drilled $1250
Stand- diy
Lighting- ? $
Sump- trigger emerald 34 $384
Return pump-jebao dc12000 $200
Wavemakers- hydor. $250
Skimmer- bubble magus 7 $300
Inkbird $45
ATO - tunze osmolator. $200
Heater- $50
Tripplite 16 powerstrip. $50
Tripplite batt backup. $250
Trigger Emerald ATO box. $40
Fuge light- wave light. $90
Icecap gyre pumps x2 $300
Sand. $140
Rock. $400
Red Sea cal/mag/alk. $44
Nyos calc/mag/alk tests. $55

I realize there are plenty of other things I have to get.. small things like gloves and tongs etc.. I'm just not factoring all of that in right now.

Yeah...3 Kessils would probably do it and be within your budget.

I have the exact same tank and 2 kessil a360w I thought about 3 of them but the center brace restricts the third. With those you need a timer kinda sucks but that's life.

I run jabeo wavemakers as suppliments and the DC12000 on my skimmer but I am not so sure I would totally trust them for a return pump when you could get something like the Fluval SP6 for basically the same price. Sure not DC but once you adjust the pump with a gate valve to your overflow to balance the system you wont really be messing with things anyway.

For 1000 in lighting you could do an ATI 48" fixture with reef brite XHO strips to give you the look of LED with the shimmer and pop but the penetration and coverage of T5 throughout your tank.

That's the a360we tuna blue, right? Does it only have blue light or does it put out white light as well?

+1 Wlavhnit Has both white and blue and adjustable only bad part is they are either on or off. No way to program just blue lights for night, And you need a timer for both of them. So they grow coral GREAT but no controls kinda sucks!

Just spend the 80 bucks for the spectral controller or if you have apex use that for controlling them.
