critters on my new zoos - Help ID?

Hey all,

I went to melev's site and couldn't find them and the search engine is too busy. Can I get some help on identifing these?

I just bought a rock of zoos and they look fine. I have them in QT and doing some FW dips to be sure. These things were letting go in the FW.

They are hard and white and vary in size and number of legs/spikes. The spikes were kind of anchored into the zoo polyps. This was the best I could do on pics -they are tiny.

sounds like you may have gotton some that eat zoos.

well, I do have asterinas in my tank, but these don't look like them. These critters have a more defined, rounded body and little straight legs (if you will) that are not flexible to the body.

That's what I have, though, I'm not sure that they are eating the zoos. I believe these came from the soloman Islands as well. I'll double check. FW dips seems to kill them, so I'm really glad I QT'd these guys.

Interesting. The first thing that I thought of was Forams, but I'm not too sure. Have you checked with Dr. Ron Shimek?

My biggest caution is just make sure that you don't jump to conclusions. Make sure it is REALLY a predator before someone convinces you to get rid of it....
