Do acropora nematocysts have the ability to sting clam mantles?

clams seem to be resistant to the stings of most corals. some LPS and anemones can cause real problems but acros are on the weaker side of stinging power and ive never seen any problems between acros and clams from casual touching

The mantle pretty much touches the acro the whole time it's extended but it hasn't seemed to bother it. Here's a pic:

shouldn't be a problem. clams in the wild are often embedded in coral

That's what I was thinking. The green cap will eventually grow around it I'm guessing.
That pic reinforces what Fatherree reported in last month's Reefkeeping--how the mantle also can dissolve surrounding coral skeletons.
