Crocea and Salifert CA test question

its lower lip extends nicely, but last night i noticed its upper lip did not. kinda like 75% extended, does it do this sometimes?
any ideas why? i have not tested the water lately, but the biggest thing is temperature fluctuations from 79-85. it gets pretty damn hot these days and i'm hating it myself.

i finally tested for calcium last night with a salifert Ca test kit. i also have some questions with that. as you add the CA3 to the pink solution waiting for it to turn blue, how do you read the syringe? do you include or exclude the air bubble? are you supposed to read how much is left in the syringe? if my readings were accurate last night, my calcium is at 360 ppm. so for a 24 gallon tank, how much more drops of liquid calcium should i add as well? or coralvite? i do not trust their dosing instructions as it seems way too inaccurate.

Pay no attention to the air gap. When the solution turns blue, turn the syringe upside down and read at the black o-ring then compare to chart.

In the reef chemistry forum under reef chemisty articles, near the top, there is a handy calculator. Plug in your tank volume. current calcium and desired. then pick a product from the drop down list and enter.

Make sure when you plug in your tank volume you include your sump or ref. :)
