Crocea and serpent star?

I plan on getting a 4-5 in crocea this weekend. Will a serpent star harm a crocea clam? I have what I believe is a sperpent star, it was given to me so I don't know for sure. The disc is about the size of a quarter, with the arms being about 3 inches long and very thin. The disc color is redish/brown, with the arms redish/brown with black bands. The star only comes out at night, so would there be problem keeping the two together or should the I find a new home for the star??
