I had 2 of my crocea up on my rocks, they moved to the sandbed. They look fine, they are facing the lights, opened nicely, and look to have dug into the sand about a 1/2 inch; should i be concerned? Lighting is 2x150w Metal Halide

I have a Crocea clam under a 150W MH and it likes the sandbed.

As a general rule, Crocea clams prefer rockwork placement and very high light with medium water flow.

I would say that you're OK on your clams placement given that it is still opening normally and you don't see changes to the otherwise.

Keep an eye on its mantle for fringing or over-extension.

Fringing of the mantle denotes irritation or infection.

Over-extension of the mantle can mean that the clam is not getting suffcient light and may need to be moved to a brighter location.

I'm guessing that you've had the clam for awhile, so you will likely be familiar with what the mantle looks like normally, for reference.
