Crocea looks "tan" in spots

I have had this crocea for over a year and it is about 6-8 inches. It is placed fairly high in my tank under 2 150 watt mh's (14k) and 4 t5 actinics. For the past few months there are certain spots that appear tan or beige instead of purple. Is this an indication of anything? It doesn't appear sick, it is responsive as the day I bought it and is firmly attached to the rock. I don't know what is causing it. My temp is always around 80 degrees. Salinity is 1.025. Ca- 380, Alk- 10, mag- 1200. Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are always 0. My ph is stable at 8.2. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'll see if I can get a decent picture of it.

The only pic I can find is with actinics only. It masks the faded areas a little but this should give you an idea of what I'm talking about. It appears sort of white in the pic but under my halides it appears tannish.

Here is a pic showing the clams placement. It's right in the middle.

Looks completely normal, I have had three that changed their coloring over a few weeks. Tan is a rarer color among Croceas, but looks healthy overall.

You think so? It didn't have that coloration when I bought it. Here is a camera phone pic that shows the coloration a little better...even though the camera phone sucks.

Seems like those pretty tan/gold colored markings that appear on some croceas. Your clam is going to have really pretty markings. :-)

I actually saw a brown crocea the other day. Colorwise it didn't look that great and it wasn't to appealing but it was as healthy as anything else.

my crocea has the same grayish tan markings along the middle of the mantle, mine is also fairly high up in the tank and under a 240w 10k +2x65w actinic PCs and i do not believe taht it is a natural coloration change. i have had it for 7 months and it behaves healthy but it was competely blue when i purchased it and fairly quickly got that grayish brown coloration down the middle. i dont know if it is bleaching or what but I am fairly positive it is not normal.i will post a picture when i get home from work so that you can see wether we have the same problem, your pictures dont clearly show the coloration i think...
