crocea on sand bed?

My crocea is about mid way up the rocks in my 24" deep tank. I also have sps and plan to add more around the area the clam is. When I add more sps I will increase the flow in that area and would like to lower the calm to the sand bed. On that side of the tank I have a 250 watt 10k xm bulb run on an icecap ballast, the bulb is about 10" above the water. My supplemental lighting is about 12" above the water, t5's. I also have a 3-5" sand bed.

Do you think the crocea will do well about 30" below the light?

another thing, Ive had the clam for about a month and it hasnt attached to the rock yet...kinda wierd, I thought this was a sign that it wasn't doing well, but it looks great, full of color and opens up fully everyday. It doesnt try to move around it just hasnt attached for some reason

Barry at Clams Direct says sometimes larger ones won't attach and that they will just rely on their weight to not move.

mine is about 4-5" so I guess that would be large for a crocea.

what about the light do you think its enough?

he'll be fine under 10K 250's, he may like it a little better up higher but he should be fine down there.
