Crocea pinched/not opening

I have a 5" crocea, had him for about 3 weeks now. When I first got him, I put him high in the rock inder 150w 14k halide. He stayed there 1 day and then moved lower in the rock. He stayed there for about 3 days and then moved to the sand. I then noticed a small part of his mantle kinda wilting. I thought that since he kept moving lower that the light may have burned him or something. He has stayed in the sand. The wilty mantle part was about 1/2 inch long on one side. He stayed the same condition until this week, and has deteriorated quickly. Sunday he was fully open - last night when I got home his mantle was almost completely pulled inside the shell, he wouldn't open wide but he was responsive to light.
It could be my coral beauty or my cleaner shrimp picking on him, though they don't seem interested in him at all- I will cover him with the clear 2l bottle and see. But would it be a good idea to do a fw dip also? I don't want to unnecessarily stress him more, but I worry that if its parasitic and I dont dip him it'll just keep getting worse.
You guys are the experts - what do you recommend?

PS No pyramid snails, water params are:
sg 1.0265
temp: 78
ph: 8.2
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate: 0
all LPS/SPS fine and healthy, can't see any obvious other possibilities besides pickin' fish or parasites...

will post pic as soon as I get home from work

have to agree, without a pic we could be doing more harm than good.

i would be very suspicious of the coral beauty but lets wait and see :)

PS: you have left out a few of the more important params for clams: Ca & Alk

Sorry, got home last night and husband decided to do some maintenance on my photo comp (other comp is crappy PC and just used for web surfing), will try to get a photo up tonight.
Ca is around 495 ppm, alk:11kh. I drip limewater weekly, and my halide bulb is less than a month old.

I also went ahead and did a fw dip per my lfs where I got the clam (they're a great lfs, extremely knowledgeable and wont just push stuff on you to make sales, and don't worry, I matched the ph and temp). Clam was ****ed last night but this morning looked a little better, also put a cut up 2l bottle half over him to keep other tank creatures from picking on him just in case.
I am a little OCD with the params in my water. I've done daily testing and everything is stable, no spikes/swings/etc.

If its the CB I'm gonna be so mad.
