I've asked before about croceas gapeing, and it's normal I guess. But mine seems to look different when I compare it to others I have seen. You can see clear through his mouth to the rock he is on. Also I moved him from the sandbed today to a rock, and there were about 3 bristleworms around his foot which was'nt attached and seems sort of shriveled up. Any ideas?

How long have you had this clam and has it always had hole with his foot missing? IMO that does not look good at all. If he is a new addition and you already have had bristle worms attacking him, I would say he may not last long. I would just suggest that you give it as best care as possible and try to keep predators away from it.

The clam's foot is attached to the body, I meant not attached to the glass under the sand. It's just shriveled, kinda like a wet, white, two inch shoestring. Do bristleworms usually mess with clams?
