Crocea Spawned, Now Dying???

All of my water params are in line. Fish and inverts have not changed.
I have had this clam for 4 years and have been doing 1.5 gallons of kalk every night. I am very consistent.
The only real change is that I dosed iodine on Friday to be able to get a reading on the Salifert test kit. However, I only dosed an insignifcant amount before the clam spawned at 8:30pm.
Could Iodine cause problems like this?

is it just those 2 clams having troubles?
even though the tank mates haven't changed they may have changed thier diet...... to clam
I recently had a model citizen snowflake eel take a liking to clam gills.
I am not sure about the iodine theory, it sounds like you added a minute amount. How long after you added it did the clam spawn?

I had a massive clam die off of all my clams and could never figure out what the problem was. But now that you said you added iodine thinking back I did the same. Iodine is not something I would normally add but I added a small amount for my inverts and the next day it started. One by one they all passed. Maybe its just a coincidence but it's weird that I would have the same experience. Has anyone else had this kind of clam reaction to iodine?

I dont ever dose iodine. I heard it is very easy to overdose and can be very harmful to inverts. I think I od it once with that kent crap when i first started and had some problems. It could also be something else like skinz said. Clams usually only spawn when they are very stressed or very happy. I dont think it was the latter for your guy. The clam to the left of it also doesnt look very good. If I were you I would add a ton of carbon and see if it helps. If not maybe you should start doing some small water changes. Check for pyrams and randomly check the tank out at night to see if anything is bothering them.

you'll have to wait for all the gametes ( sperm and egg ) to die and decompose before they will register as a nitrate and phosphate problem. you may not think your water params are an issue but they will be if nothing is done.
spawning in our tanks is brought on by stress and an instinct to survive. you need to do a large water change, run carbon and keep your skimmer running 100% to remove as much of the gametes before they can foul the water further, possibly causing another spawning event and compounding the problem.

Fortunately I was running a 100 micron filter sock and had just cleaned my skimmer so I do not think the gametes will be a problem. Tomorrow I get a bigger and better skimmer 
I do also run carbon and I had just changed it before the spawning. I added a Poly Filter this morning.

I really dont think dosing the iodine caused this considering u didnt add much at all. Iodine is takin out of the tank pretty quickly and i think thats why alot of people dose it. I dose iodine and strontium once a week and those are my doses i do, but i also test for this also. I just have a hard time believing it would be the iodine.
