I just bought a 300 gallon used and there is no center brace. My question is do I have to put a brace in I did start to fill to test for leaks and got it 3/4 full and the middle glass expanded 1/4 of and inch wider than emply If I do put some glass in the middle local I can only get 3/8 thick. I also don't know the correct silicon to use I would like ya'lls advice on this?????

No not that I can tell. I bought the tank from a guy locally that had it for 2 years and never set it up he bought it off e-bay and drove 400 miles to go pick it up. The diminsion of the tank are 96"Lx24"Wx30"H the tank glass is 5/8" thick. There is a 1" metal band around the top of the tank like a band used to strap materal on a pallet it seems to be in good shape. I just want to make sure it is safe so I don't come home to a wet house and lots of lost money.

Well it shouldn't be too difficult to add your own Euro bracing to it.
Buy glass 24"x 8 or 10 x 1/2" with polished edges and good Silicone. I am no expert but I would guess that you should install 4 cross pieces. one on each end and then the other 2 spaced evenly apart. My 72 x 24 x 30 has 3 cross braces and then pieces about 1 " wide that encircle the top of the tank between the cross braces.

I just had a 96" X 30" X 30" built. Here's what the bracing looks like:

I'm picking it up next weekend, so I don't know the exact width of the eurobracing but the cross braces are 8" wide 1/2" thick.

The only reason the xbracing isn't evenly spaced is because that's the way I wanted it for my lighting.

Great looking tank I have fabed a brace to put on out of galvinized thick tin that saddles the glass on each side with silicone to give it cushin from metal to glass contact I will be adding water soon and will post the results.

Is that eurobracing? I thought eurobracing was the kind where you will not have any strips in the middle blocking the access to light or any other purpose you may have to it.

Because of the overflow design, he wanted to add the x bracing to be on the safe side. Doesn't bother me the front will be the only viewing panel.
