crosshatch in reef system

That is an awesome pair! I found a nice christmas island pair on line, but they sold as soon as I set up my QT tank for them. Want to find another nice christmas island pair...I figuire if they outgrow the tank, just upgrade it. Always a good excuse for the wife :)

I got this pair from a fellow reefer here on RC for a song and a dance ($500 shipped for the pair). Nonetheless, Tom at www.justrarefish.com usually has a good supply of them, and he is local in Atlanta. I think Cap Bay also said they were getting some in sson as well, check with them.

These are smart fish, they have learned that I am a source of food, so when I go to feed they hover. Actually, hover is apoor choice of words- they race back and forth at the top of the tank enough to throw a significant wake. I feed VERY heavily to my fish, so I dump a large wad of food in and it disperses pretty quickly. I have not had the problem with them destroying inverts or corals to get at food, probably because of my feeding habits. They also have an auotnmatic feeder that feeds flake 4X daily.

If you go with these triggers- have a big tank. My male swims incessantly back and forth, and it would be cruel to put him in a smaller tank. These fish are oceanic in nature, so they love open swimming space. I have my pair in a 210, and I even think it might be a little cramped at times.
