Crosshatch Trigger With Bubble In The Eye

I purchased a (sick)Crosshatch Trigger from a fellow reefer here in Mi. with a severe case of popeye and have been treating her now for 1 1/2 months with everything. 400mg/10gal. of neomycin sulfate, kanamycin, erythromycin, now hypo 1.010 with double doses of Triple Sulfa with great results after 3 days. Shes at the point where the swelling around the eye has almost subsided. There has been a 1/4 inch dia. bubble between her outer lens and the pupil for almost 2 weeks. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen to their fish before and if so what was the treatment/outcome. She is eating by hand and is in good health with no other problems. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A large number of eye problems in marine fish are actually caused by mechanical damage, not disease. If you see actual bubbles under the sclera of the eye, and if it is one eye only, it is almost always due to mechanical damage. One common cause of this is the fish shaking its head in the net when captured. There is no effective treatment for this other than time. I've worked with mini hyperbaric chambers, and under pressure, I could reduce the bubbles, but they often come back when the fish is decompressed.

After the treatment with all those meds, I should just let it run its course? The eye is barley popping out anymore. I was thinking maybe I should put her in the DT in a week or 2 and see how she does. She may have to just live with it right? Shes a beautiful fish and I think she will make a nice addition to my tank except for that eye. Does it ever go away?
