well speeking as a Cubs fan and watching Barrett play for going on two season I think AJ said some thing to him to get him started and thats why AJ got thrown out
By the way SOX dugout is up the third base line AJ was heading the other way.I know we have all seen the replay a million times by now.
I dont think Barrett had the right to hit AJ and whatever suspension he gets is deserved but I just think there is more to it the just the pics would love the had a mic down there to hear what was said
any way I am a realist and the Cubs Suck again this year SO FAR anyway but there is no way I will ever get on that other teams band wagon mostly because all my friends would ride me about that as well
by the way cant we all just get along

ummm......Barrett said that A.J. didn't say 'one' word to him, and he was going to get his helmet behind Barrett ans he couldn't handle the rage from getting run over......so he through a temper tantrum, lol.

Barrett sd he blew his fuse because AJ walked towards him and bumped into him, instead of turning around & going to his dugout. AJ sd he was going to pickup his helmet behind Barrett.

I was wondering the same thing about what they sd to each other, since the bump seemed incidental. The only quote I've read so far was that Barrett gave him a bearhug and said "I didnt have the ball B*tch." AJ told the media that he & Barrett are friends and when Barrett came up and hugged him he assumed that Barrett was going to ask him if he was OK, just as he was going to. AJ claims that he didnt say a single word to him, I think Barrett confirmed that.

What is this hockey ? Barrett had no right popping AJ after that play. Excuses Excuses. thats all we ever get from the Cubs. You mean to tell me Barrett never ran over a catcher in his carear. BS . He will get a 5 game ssupension, AJ will get nothing. (Anderson might get a game or too). I'm so tired of people knocking AJ. Took a lot of control to walk away from that without swinging back. If you watch the replay Barrett knew he was getting plowed and braced himself for it so it doesnt make sence to me why that would be the only reason to go after AJ
I dont know what or if anything was said and whatever transpired it was totlally Barretts fault because trash talking is part of baseball is it not


I agree Barrett was out of line and I did not get to see sports center to hear what was said after so as I said b4 Barrett gets what he deserves when he gets his suspension I think it will be more like 10 games but we will see

I was born a Sox fan 37 1/2 years ago.

Being that Barrett did not have posession of the ball he had no right to block the runners path to the base.

I know I am just parroting what Hawk said today when they replayed it yet again but if the catcher is blocking the base you go through him. A.J. did just that. Then he collected himself and tagged the base even though he kneed the base when he fell.

Barrett threw a cheap shot and A.J. walked away. No reason A.J. should have been tossed for playing the game correctly.

And for all of you A.J. bashers talking smack and calling him a jerk and whatever other nonsense; each incident or percieved incident should be judged on it's own merit or lack thereof. Your arguments have no merit on this incident.

Yep, it was a game alright. Cubs pulled ahead on a couple of errors and stayed there.

As usual the cubs settle for 1 of 3.

i think all of the sox fans in here should worry less about the cubs and more about the tigers.

ALSO...

I think the cub fans in here should do what I plan on doing and start praying that cubs management gets their heads out from their backsides and try to improve this team.

I guarentee, if the Cub had won the series, the majority of our fans would have handled it with more class. That being said, we didn't, we won't anytime soon, and Barrett over reacted.

As hawk and DJ said "the Cubs again proved that they are a classless organization" Cubs fans should expect/demand better.

I always thought Barrett was a good guy but after his flareups with Dave Roberts and the AJ sucker-punch, he is going to see some serious suspension time. What a team player..who is going to hit cleanup now, neifi?

Also, I don't know where all this AJ had it coming crap comes from. AJ plays the game tough and right, there is nothing wrong with that, just because the Cubs are a bunch of Sallys. I agree that you dislike AJ playing against you but the Cubs would love to have him on their team. The Cubs pitching staff doesn't even want Barrett to catch for them.
