So, I know that there is little/no effect in raising the temperature and the Ick lifecycle. What, if any, is the effect of lowering the temperature? I have some deepwater fish (with SPS) and plan to lower the temp down to 70 or so.

So, I know that there is little/no effect in raising the temperature and the Ick lifecycle. What, if any, is the effect of lowering the temperature? I have some deepwater fish (with SPS) and plan to lower the temp down to 70 or so.

I am aware of some saying that higher temp does not speed up the ich lifecycle, but I find this assertion very hard to accept.

It has to be very strong and compelling evidence, since all chemical processes increase in rate with increasing temp.
