I have been working on getting this out for a few weeks now and here it is!
FFM2013Small.jpg
As usual, admission is free for anyone/everyone to go, so bring a friend. I am again relying on word of mouth and the various forums to spread the word about the event so feel free to chat it up when you see people in stores, etc... If you know of a forum that it would be helpful to post in, let me know and I will try to get the info in it. Spread the word!!!

I am going to expand the event into another room this year to make space for more hobbyists who want to sell, and to try to spread the crowds out a bit (remember the masses from last year?). I already have a few of the big names signed up and one or two new ones who look to be coming as well to sell their "crop." I will post updates as things develop between now and then. If you want to set-up this year and make a few $, let me know. The set-up is only $30 and for that I will give you a space, outlets, heated water (if you need it), and a few hundred people to shop your homegrown stuff. Let me know sooner rather than later because space fills up quickly! You can contact me via PM or via email. Thanks!
Jon

Just a quick update on the Frag Farmer's this year. I have 32 "vendors" signed up to sell corals at the FFM as of this morning, with quite a few on the "maybe" list still. It looks to continue to grow each year and this one looks huge. If you have a few hours (okay, pretty much the day) come up and check it out. Don't let the school setting fool you, this is a HUGE bunch of corals and it will be worth the ride!

Last ffm i went to was packed like a can of sardines.
Can't imagine more people in the same space.
Might have to cover myself with menhaden oil to slip through the crowd for this one.

It was crowded last year, so I expanded it out into another classroom and out into the hall to spread things out a bit. I am working on getting things to move easier. Please, no oiled people....

You guys do a fantastic job putting it together.
The crowds were a testament to a great event.
The more the merrier. Hope i can make it again this year.

Here is the long awaited FFM list! I am more or less full (I can make room for one or two more if I need to...). My appologies to everyone whose name I messed up somehow (or location is incorrect). I am putting together the raffle list this week sometime and will release that info as well. See you all there!

Here is the preliminary list for the raffle for the FFM so far. This represents only the items that I have in my hands at this time or have confirmation that they are coming. There is a somewhat large list of items that are coming in the mail still or I have yet to confirm. I will post updates in the next few days as wel get closer!

Frist off thank you to CaribSea for providing a massive amount of water for this year's FFM. I will still be mixing water to make up the few gallons I will still need but they really have supported the FFM and my project from the start and I owe them big time! They may also have sent up a bit of Purple-up. Come early it disappears FAST!!!

Also thanks to SeaChem for offering to provide Reef Dip for people to take home and use for the frags that they pick up. I will have a number of "vials" of it available that day. Grab one and be safe!

I am up to 45 people/vendors selling corals as of this morning. I expanded into another room to spread things out a bit more. There will be more coral here for the weekend that there is left on the Great Barrier Reef!

Found out last night that my co pilots can't make the trip. Looks like i'm going to miss this one, bummer.

Can't wait!

Can't wait!

I'm counting the hours and completely psyched to check this out. Not only my first event but first time being around fellow hobbyists since I started in the hobby six months ago. Won't be able to make it until noon so hope I don't miss out on much. Price wise, what do any of you that have been before think I could come out with spending 100 bucks? Between gas and lunch out for me and the Mrs. Can't spend much more. Thanks for any and all replies.

It depends what you are buying. High end stuff you will get 1 or 2 frags for $100. $60 for a frag of strawberry shortcake acro, price not negotiable from that vendor. Acans $15-$40 per head. On average i didn't see anything under $20 that interested me but i was looking for specific corals. Of course there were plenty of cheaper corals available too. There was a great variety. I'd be heading there again had my partners not bailed last minute, they had good reason to do so. No hard feelings, life happens.
Hope that helps.

Thanks! Gives me some idea anyway. I'm just starting out and only have a few simple corals. Few mushrooms, zoas, xenia, trumpet and anthelia. Tanks pretty bare and just looking to add some life and color. Not looking for difficult species at this time as I am still learning. I'm sure I'll find something that will excite me. Think I want a frogspawn or torch, whatever is easiest. Thanks again, appreciate it.

Update from last night's FFM set-up-
There are a TON of corals at the school, with LOTS of unusual stuff, and less than 1/2 the people set-up last night! It looks to be EPIC this year, if you have the afternoon, it will be worth the ride for sure!
