Can you guys give me in your own opinion the pro's and con's of owning a cube tank? I currently have a 20 high but am in love with the look of a 30 cube. I'm not interested in more volume as much as i am the shape.
the only thing i have to say about cube tanks that are not to get them too too deep. sure they are nice but if its too deep it will be hard to get to the bottom! you can get nice aquascaping on them though and of course the all around view
I loved mine, just as I think most in the nano forum will say also. Great shape. I didnt per say have a true cube, 24x24x18, but that is close enough. Go for it!
A good thing about them is to save space. Since it is a smaller gallon tank I don't think it would matter anyway. If you were to say go for 100+ gallons and make it a cube and want to hold some bigger fish like tangs that like room, then a cube may not work because that few feet in length won't do them much good. Otherwise I would think a cube that is a smaller gallon size would be really nice to save space and give a good depth to aquascape, plus if you plan to keep some SPS corals and want a MH, you may only need 1 pendant instead of more because of the length. Good luck
Great point. I will eventually upgrade to MH if need be. I am running 96 watts of t-5 (two coralife strips). I'll see how bright they make the tank, because i'm not ready to drop that kind of coin on MH yet..
I was thinking the same, but i'm not planning on doing any of the tough stuff such as acropora and other SPS. I'm going to keep it to softies and mainly LPS. I believe i'm a bit crowded fish wise anyway..
I had 2 oc clowns and a firefish. My mom bought a royal gramma because she loved the coloration, so she brought it home as a surprise. I can't let it go because it will crush her. More room is on it's way.
