I recently purchased the marine version of this:

from Drs F&S. I've never been a fan of adding any chemicals to my FOWLR and have always used quarintine to treat something. But I saw this in one of my fish catalogs and thought I'd give it a try.

I was amazed at the results. I usually clean the glass every other day, but now it's every week or so. Any hair algae in the tank also seemed to slowly die away. I removed what was left by hand.

I just wanted let everyone know. Sometimes good products that do what they claim to do are hard to come by. Has anyone else tried this?

Note it is harmful to crabs and shrimp, I'd also avoid using it with any corals. Algacides can't distinguish between good algae and bad algae.

Benefits:
AlgaeFix Marine effectively controls these types of saltwater algae: Green algae (Cladophora), "Red Slime" (Oscillatoria/Spirulina major), "Brown Algae" (Cyclotella) in marine aquariums containing live corals, invertebrates, and fish. When used in saltwater AlgaeFix Marine will not harm snails, clams, scallops, shrimp, anemones, sea cucumbers, feather dusters, coralline algae, soft corals, hard corals, and other invertebrates. Does not discolor the water or cause foaming.

This is what the information says.
I do have some hermit crabs and a brittle star in my sump/fuge. Do you think it may harm them? I have not noticed anything negative so far...
