CUC with ULNS? What can you keep alive?

Now that I've gone to a ULNS system I'm having a hard time keeping any CUC alive. I assume I still want some. What do you guys do to keep them alive without any algae or extra food around? I still have some alive, but I worry about them.

i feed 3 to 4 times per week, only as much pellet food that can be consumed before any hits the sand. I feed nori strips in small amounts on the off days.
There isn't anything visible for them to clean up, I was just assuming that I would still need them for the "invisible" (stuff I can't see) stuff.

for a ULNS tank, a couple of snails to clean the glass are all that is needed.

if you have a shallow sand bed, Id also recommend some counch snails. or a sand sifting star to keep that moving as well.
