have a question i wanna add a cuc,but my nitrates are between 30-40 now. i was well over 160ppm few weeks ago. is it safe to add a cuc with nitrates between 30-40ppm?

Do a 20% water change to bring the nitrates down, then wait another week and test again, then do another water change.
