What's a reasonable size cuc for my 24 gal Aquapod? I currently have 1 emerald crab, 3 hermits, and 3 turbo snails. I know this is definitely undersized, but I'm not sure how many of what to add. I'm not having any algae problems on my rock because everybody works on the rock all day. My sand is a little funky though. It's definitely looking icky.

some people say at least 1 snail and crab per gallon. I think in such a small tank that is a little excesive. just my .02 I would at least how ever do 15-18 snails and hc.

15-18 of each or combined? either way, that seems like so many.

There is no "right number", It depends on how much you feed your tank and what kind of animals you plan to keep.

Get some bristleworms, too: they're worth their weight in gold re cleaning rock of detritus. They go where snails can't. I'd also recommend one to two small white nassarius.

My main issue is the sand. It tends to get algae growth. I've had a hard time keeping diamond gobies. The work great at keeping the sand clean, but my tank isn't really big enough to keep them fed. My diamond goby just died, and I really want to find something else that will clean the sand instead of buying another one.
