Cultures

at bare min. rotifers since you can purchase the rest all ready done for you. If you want to culture everything yourself, you'll need to do phytoplankton as well.

You also may want some brine shrimp eggs to hatch baby brine shrimp.
I use phytoplankton in the larvae tanks also in order to provide a contrast so the larvae can see their food (rotifers) easier.
When the larvae get through metamorphosis, I use Otohime feeds (available through Reed Mariculture). I topdress the Otohime with Naturose. It helps the clowns get a beautiful orange color.
If you plan on culturing your own phytoplankton, you'll also need some F/2 (nutrients). I bought mine from Florida Aqua Farms but there may be other places to buy some.
The best thing I could recommend for you though, is a copy of Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson.

Thanks. A question a little of subject. I thought I read somewhere that if you put a tile in the tank and your clowns lay the eggs on it and you remove it, so that you could put it in another tank, that it makes them less likely to want to spawn again or you dont get a very productive laying next time.

I use a terra cotta (sp?) pot. I remove it for just a couple hours so they don't miss it very much. I've never had a problem with them resuming spawns unless I move the rock in my display tank.

You can skip the BBS stage and go direct to Otohime if you don't want to hatch BBS :)

Mine lay on a tile. I just replace the tile with one exactly the same. They don't seem to know the difference. they lay in exactly the same spot on each tile. I don't use BBS at all. Otohime A works better imo.

Yes Demonboy369. Regular old ceramic tile. As long as it has a rough side you are good to go. They like the texture of the back of a tile. Clay pots work well too.

Will it affect the parent clownfish if you remove the tile? Also, which strain of rotifers should I get?
Not at all if you replace it immediately with an identical one.
Any rots, bbs,Oto B1 and IA.That´s all you need.:)
