Culturing live phytoplankton from DT's

Has anyone successfully cultured phytoplankton using DT's Premium Reef Blend?

I have read that this is possible, but how hard is it really?

If you have any ideas on how to make this easy and efficient please let me know. I have a bottle of DT's Premium Reef blend, but don't know much I need to start a culture.

I have tried, but it was my first and only attempt, within a week the cultures crashed.
