cupramine for sensitive fish

Is cupramine good medication for Ich to the sensitive fish such as Butterflyfish and Bandit angel?

It is the best choice for sensitive fish. I have used it on a dogface puffer without issue. Others have used it on angels, eels, etc. However, with sensitive fish, you really should very slowly ramp up the dosage to the treatment level. I would suggest that you slowly ramp up to treatment level over a 2 to 3 day period. Also, you want to keep you level on the lower range of .3-.4 and not .5. This may require a bit longer treatment period, but your fish will tolerate the treatment better.

I also agree that it may be a good idea to increase to the full dosage slowly, over three or four days, as many people do this with more delicate species and feel that it helps. That being said, I have always followed the directions on the bottle and have never had a problem treating 'sensitive' fish.

Does Cupramine work for Fluke?

You are most welcome. Prazipro (praziquantel) is a better choice for fluke treatment. Cupramine and Prazipro can be used together. I have found it is best to start treatment once fish are eating well if possible, particularly with prazi.

i had a really bad case of ich about a week ago. someone insisted i use cupramine. i went out and bought some came home and dosed and after the first treatment everything had cleared up. i went ahead and waited 48 hrs. and redosed just as a precaution. fish are all now happy, active and eating really well.
