Cupramine & Noodles

Hi

My question in brief is do ceramic noodles have any effect on Cupramine levels?

I am attempting to dose my QT with cupramine to a level of .5ppm However I am finding this level difficult to achieve. I cannot get it to register beyond about .3ppm at best.

My QT has a bare bottom and no live rock. It has an internal canister filter full of ceramic noodles which is constantly submerged.

The PH is constantly around 8.3 also. I cannot figure it out. The noodles remain the only possibility and I am wondering if they are in fact the problem.

Kind regards

i am fairly new but i am pretty sure i read that thing like ceramic noddles and such absorb copper and that if your PH goes to high that it will leach it back into your water quite quickly causing a high level of copper.
still a noob though so prob better to get a second opinion
:)

Sea Chem has a forum on RC. It would be a good idea to ask your question there. Noodles will not absorb copper. The PH effects copper when it lowers. A lower PH will precipitate the copper. You shold not however lower your PH.

No, they do not absorb copper. I have over 50 liters of ceramic rings in my 250g system and I've been able to maintain very steady cupramine levels many times.
