Cupramine question

I'm going to be doing a 10 week QT of all fish in a 55 gal. I have, purple tang, algae blenny, royal gramma, purple firefish, two clowns, two Anthias, Orange hint and a mandarin...are any of these fish NOT SAFE in a cupramine treated tank?

sent from never never land...

I think you'll be OK except for the Mandarin. Does this Mandarin eat anything other than pods? If not, you'll need to dose the QT w/ pods to keep the Mandarin alive and Pods will die instantly in copper. IMO & E, the best way to QT a Mandarin is using tank transfer.

Some might tell you not to worry about QT'ing a Mandarin or that they can't get Ich due to their thick mucous coating. This is not true 100% of the time, and I'd hate to see someone go fallow for 10 weeks only to reinfect all their fish because they left the Mandarin in the DT.

Is that what you're doing? Going fallow for 10 weeks in your DT and treating all the fish with copper in a separate QT? Or were you planning on treating your DT with copper (I assume no but I'm not 100% sure based on your OP)?

My apologies...my DT is a 120 mixed reef...I will have a separate 55 QT for all the fish....so I can def have a mandarin in a copper treatment

Just to clarify, I would not use copper treatment on a Mandarin. I would recommend tank transfer method instead for the Mandarin.
