cupramine-Tangs?

I used cupramine a few months ago for my baby blue hippo tang and it worked fine. I've since added another tang(powder blue) and now they both have ich. I'm pretty sure the treatment killed the ich last time so I think the new tang brought it in. Shame on me for not QT'ing the ich prone fishy.

anywho, i've been reading a lot about the fresh water dip and/or the hypersalinity treatment.

does anyone have any suggestions. I'm all for the cupramine especially since it worked last time but i'm open to suggestions.

thanks in advance RC!

Are you using it in the DT?
If so, do you plan on placing any inverts in the DT?
Can you accurately test for copper?
Can you maintain the necessary copper level long enough to be effective?
Are you comfortable using hyposalinity?

There are theories suggesting that neither hyposalinity nor copper (copper being the worse of the two) are especially good for Acantherus tangs. I've seen enough circumstantial evidence to make the argument. I'd combo hypo with garlic, metronidazole, and Focus.

No, I am not using the cupramine in the DT. I have a hospital tank set up at all times just for this reason. My DT does have inverts and corals so I know not to use the copper treatment in the DT. The hospital tank only can be treated with cupramine. If a seperate method is used I'd have to get another hospital tank. I can accurately test for copper. I can maintain the levels. I have never used the hyposalinity method yet. Could you put me in the right direction for the hypo treatment?
