Cupramine x Semilarvatus

yes. i find the key to successfully treat copper-sensitive species with cupramine is to ramp up the dosage slowly. the directions on the bottle are too fast. i ramp up 0.1ppm per day and take 4 days to get to 0.4ppm. this allows fish more time to get adjusted to copper.

i've treated all kinds of fish with this regimen, including puffers, and have not had one fish that had reactions to it. every one ate well throughout the treatment too.

I agree...go very slow with the increasing dose. I personally do very low dose (<0.3) on butterflies, since killing a few. This has been very successful for me.

+1
I've had 2 Semilarvatus since moving, about 6 yrs ago. Big, gorgeous fish. All my fish are treated more or less this way. Nice to see a few more Red Sea fish on the market again. I wouldn't count it lasting, however.

Will do. I plan on treating with a low dose and slowly ramping up to 0.3ppm. Thanks for the heads up guys. Lately I've been seeing a little more Red Sea fish pop up. I know I haven't see Semi's in a while. That's why I had to order online and snag them up quick.

Yes, it's more available now. Diver's Den has been having semilarvatus constantly in the last month or so.

Yeah it seemed like each time I was gonna pull the trigger, it was gone the next day. I ended up ordering three small ones from PIA. I couldn't resist the urge, they were so beautiful. My all time favorite fish. I'm hoping they will live with each other. Although I've heard that they may turn on each other as they get older. So far no aggression towards each other in QT.
