curing live rock

I was going to set the 30 up to put live rock in it before i put it into the bigger tank...

Is it ok to use tap water with declorination chemicals instead of RODI water? or should I just get RODI water for it?

I had some green hair algae on the sides of the glass, I just scrubbed off and left in the tank, should I rinse the tank out good or is ok that I just leave it in there?

IMO, I would rinse it out of the tank. GHA is nasty stuff, and after battling it for over a year before finally wining... I'd say get rid of it now... That stuff NEVER dies...

Honestly... I used declor'd tap water (with salt of course ;) ) when I first setup my tank, and then started using RO/DI after it was up and running. You may want to add extra carbon.

Darn, I didn't want to rinse it out. Oh, well. I guess I will. I was thinking of turning it into another fish only tank or making it a quarintine tank, but the fiance' doesn't like the idea of an empty tank with just water in it.
