Depends on the how it was put away/stored really and whats potentially in/on it..
If just thrown into a container and stored then giving it a good wash/scrub or powerwash wouldn't hurt to remove any old/dried organic material (algae,poop,etc...)
Then cure like any other rock..
Some may choose Bleach or Muriatic acid treatment to really make it "new again"..
Others may just throw it right into saltwater and start the cycling process.
Do you think its clean and more importantly phosphate free/low? If so cycle and be done..
If not curing/acid/bleach,etc... may be beneficial..
Really depends on specifics of that rock and its state of "clean"..
I had rock stored for 5 years or so and just took it out to the driveway and hit it with the powerwasher then into the tank to start the cycle it went..
