I know how to cure rock and everything, but don't knw where to put the sand bed in during the process, or just leave it bare during the curing process, then put sand in.

Any opinions are welcome.

EDIT: Making a new 20L, since i'm turning my 10 gallon into a very small prop tank to fill this new 1 ;)

Well you can get the tank up and going with sand and a top layer of LIVE SAND.Add a damsel or two and feed lightly and the tank will cycle while the rock is cureing.Maybe add one peice of Live rock thats uncured and cure the rest in a tub but yes you can go ahead and add the sand and get going.:)

Are you curing the rock outside of the display tank? if so you can add sand to the display. If NOT then wait until your rock is completely done shedding before adding sand. This takes anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months depending upon how diligent you are about dunking/swishing the rock.

This is a second display tank, I was thinking of letting it cure directly in the tank with a garbage back around it to prevetn most light. Last time i did this curing I put 7 Maxijets in and only took 4 weeks, but the cleanup was a mess! This is onl 22lbs so not a big deal probably.

I'd not put the sand in until the rocks stop shedding significant amounts of detritus. This will also let you pound away at all parts of the rock with some high flow...further helping out the process.
