current sunpod HQI 150

Hi. I tried to use search tab but I need to upgrade to premium. Anyway I posted on lights, filtration etc... But no responce from anyone. I would like to know if anyone is using the current sunpod 150 HQI on their nano tank and what they think about it.I will be needing a light fixture soon. My 10g. is cycling now 2 wks. Any comments on this one (or any other fixture) would be great. It's a standard 10g. I plan on keeping some sps. Thanks Mike. I thouht the nano threads would be better for help.

150 is a bit much for the 10g. use pc... a bit easier on a budget. im using the 150current USA on my AP... best light i ever baught

That should work great over your tank. I would recommend adding an ATO though, for evaporation. I have the 70 watt over my 12 gallon NC nano and it just isnt very strong. sps wont work under pc's.

i agree,the soralife comes witha 20k 150w de,its sweet lookin.

The sunpod should be fine, but you'll need a chiller too.

i think heat will be a BIG issue. i had a 175(se) mh on a 29g and the only problem i had was heat and the evaporating was 1-2 gallon every 3-4 days.

Just go with a current orbit fixture (2x40watts of PC) or you could do a quad fixture 96watts.....

Thanks for all the good advice. I know heat will be the problem. I was looking at the 24" 96 watt nova extreme ( has all the bells and whistles ) and started thinking how much more heat the 150 hqi would give off ??? Is it not worth it to go with 150 hqi? By the way I do have the Orbit 2x40w on my 16 bow front. It's an excellent fixture. I got it
before the outer orbit 150 and sunpod were available. I guess I don't want to out grow this next light. Thanks again Mike.

I have the standard 10 gallon as well for my nano

I had the coralife 96watt quad for a couple month, just in the past month upgraded to the sunpod 150watt halide fixture, I LOVE IT, the color is amazing with the 14k bulb, and my tank stays at 80degress all day, I'd say go with the sunpod if you have the $$$, then you can grow anything in that bad boy

PS: I use the orbit 2x40 for my 10 gallon prop tank

I have the 70w on my 10g and I'm wanting to upgrade it to 150w.

I've been wanting to get a bigger tank but then I have to get a stronger light... 70w isn't strong enough for anything bigger than 10g IMO. So basically the 70w is stopping me from upgrading because of $$$.

But I'm happy with it on my 10g. I have acros, zoos, palys, crocea clam, ricos, musrooms, sun polyps, xenia, and acan lords and they are all doing very well.

Hey people I've been very busy I just bought a 72 vette
