Current Tank Pics

How about a thread with Full Tank Shots. The shot below isn't the best pic and I will try to replace tonight when the sun is down with a better pic. I will start and hopefully everyone will join in.

Thx. I was just looking at it the other day, and said to my wife that I thought I had too much purple.......be careful what you wish for!

mltmtascp,
What is the black under your rocks? I like the way it accents the rocks in the full tank shot

I don't have a current pictures. This one is already almost a year old, but you can get the idea. The main difference is that corals are a lot bigger and very crowded.

Thanks, my hubby build a stand out of PVC and then sprayed it with the black foam tuff stuff (found at ACE). It holds the rock out of the sand. Coralline is starting to grow on it.

He also put eggcrate on top of the stand. Tied it down with plastic computer wire ties. Then sprayed it with the foam.

Monica,
Great idea but now you have confused me (not that hard to do) but give me some more information on the egg crate and foam on the top? A pic would help.

Also some great looking tanks especially yours Tomoko, now you gotta give us the update I am sure its even more filled in now.

KniLLifer that looks great and I love the rock work, kinda reminds me of what Dobbs start with when he first built his 90 and it looked great. That will grow in very nice and the fish have lots of places to hide.

Dave I love that clam you got some better close ups of the mantle? Is it a derasa? kinda got the pattern but that blue just pops out at you.

Mike does your 90 have Reeflux 12k lighting or is that a purple actinic? Kinda looks like new reflux bulbs. Reason I ask is I am going back to reflux when these XMs are about 6-7 months. If its reflux they will turn more white after burn in and they will pop all greens and blues.

A pic is a little difficult now... Basically I just built a fram out of 1/2" PVC pipe. Capped all the ends, looked like a ladder with as small as possible legs on one side. I used egg crate cut to fit and used wire ties to hold it to the PVC frame. Made basically a shelf.

Then I used the tuff-stuff (black) to fill all the holes (actually most) and then a second layer to give it some contours. It is beginning to get a lot of coraline on it so it will eventually blend in with the rock.

The only downside I found is that it floats... Takes two people to re-arrange rock. One to hold it down until enough rock is place to weigh it down. Keeps the rock out of the sand thou.

Thanks, Nitroq. i will try and get a better Pic of the mantle this weekend. It's a Squamosa. I picked it up in Oxford,AL at Valley tropicals about 4 months ago for $60. That store has some killer stuff and the price is good too.

Thank you, Nitroq2, for the nice compliment.

I will be rearranging my rock work probably this weekend. I need to catch the two marauders who refuse to go into the trap.

Taking advantage of this dismantling, I will take H@rry's advise and take out some rocks to allow more space for my SPS's. I need to get rid of the orange Monti digi that is trying to take over the small world climbing up my acropora branches and killing them. I have to have a scratch and dent sale after the rearrangement.

The tank will look very different after this. I will bring down some acro from the top of the rocks to somewhere in the middle of the tank. I am afraid that this will brown them up a bit for awhile.
