I started this tank about 2 weeks ago and I like it more then my 75G
I used already cycled live rock, sand, and water from my 75.

Anyways, I got this tank from a friend. He was using it as a sump for his 60g Current USA cube.

Equipment
Aquaclear 30 modified for refugium
Odyssey 4 bulb t5 8 lunar led's
25w Heater
Koralia nano
and a air stone for added aeration and reducing the skim that sits on top of the water.

I have no protein skimmer in my nano. Im trying to keep it simple. In the aquaclear I use chemi pure elite as my filtration and hopfully it will do what it is design to do....:hmm2:

Stock list

20 pounds of Marshall Island live rock full of shrooms , sponges, palys, gsp, and tons of critters. And 10 pounds of crushed coral.

Its a small tank. I don't have the measurements on hand but I will let you know later today. If I were to guess its 24' long, 16' tall, and 12' wide. Makes it about 16 gallons. Ill get the exact measurements later. Here are some more photos and inhabitants.

I see that the tangs are small but do you think this tank is suitable for them? I see your sig says they are going to be moved but WOW that’s a lot of fish for a 16ish nano that’s only two weeks old. I am sure all the stuff came from a cycled system yet still on the unstable side of cycled.

I bet this thing takes people breath away walking up on it.

O and love the Avatar you got there took me a minute to figure out way it was "œunsafe". But then it came to me the baby could pee in the water that would be a lot of ammonia for the filter to handle. :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I thought you were going to say somthing else about the avatar.
Yes, the tangs are going to be moved. I am planning on doing that this weekend. Yes everyone that has seen the tank has asked me to establish one for them.

Im planning on doing some work on this guy over the weekend. Obviously I going to move the flame angel, blue and yellow tang over to the 75 including the hawk fish. After I do that I am going to re-aquascape my tank as well. Im thinking of going for a bonsai look but not sure because of the rocks I have.
If you see the first 2 rocks on the left they are as big as my head :hmm4:and the others are little pieces.

Sweet tank. Looks alot bigger than a 16g! The setup is nice. the tangs look small, dont think you shold have an issue if its only short term. I babysat a buds blue hipo in my AP24 for about a month and it was healthy and happy.

Yeah, I measured the hippo this weekend and he is exactly 1". Yes, looks can be deceiving but I assure you it's for sure (now) 16g. So like the other reply said in a tank that small with so many fishes somethings bound to happen.

Yesterday while I was servicing the tank I noticed that every fish had ich :deadhorse1: I imediatley got some live brine shrimp added zoocon by Kent and chopped up some fresh garlic threw it in the bag of brines and had it sitting for an hour, feed them and now ich is gone .

Today I took the fishes out flame, yellow tank, hawk but left the hippo because him and the clown have become best of buddies and threw them in the 75g. Soon then after my client called and asked me if I can take a valentine puffer out of his tank . Now there is a puffer in there and man is he cool. I'll add photos later. I wasn't able to reaquascape but will later this week.

Cool looking little tank!

Thanks Dave.

I had the time yesterday to reaquascape because I was sick from work, cough cough, sniffle sniffle....
I took a photo but obviously the photo doesn't do the tank justice.
I took out the Koralia nano and put in a tunze instead. There was no reason for doing that I just liked how the tunze looked.

On another note, I just got my AI sol super blue over the weekend. Man that thing is beast!!

So this weekend I saw that there was green algae all over my front glass. I havent seen this since I started this thread (tank). Of course I realized that my lights were coming on the majority of the time and installed some timers.
This lead me to think about what "can happen" I am thinking that I may need a protein skimmer but I dont want one. I currently am using chemi-pure elite and as it states it "reduces nitrate and phosphates" do you think this is enough?

What do you all think skimmer or no skimmer and if so a skimmer what skimmer should I get that's not bulky.

1st photo is of my Valentine puffer
2nd RBTA
3rd GSP, polyps, and sps
4th SPS

I dont remember the names of the sps so if you know what they are please let me know.

So my yellow tang died.........:sad1: I guess he didn't make the transfer to the 75g...

Anyways, nano looking great little puffer is enjoying the tank. When I had all the fishes in the nano I really did appreciate the color combination the fishes gave to the tank. I have never been the one to house the norm tangs or liked puffers but seeing how the colors brighten up the tank I understood why ppl always bought those fishes. So this weekend I will be buying a yellow tang for my 75G.

Here are more photos. What do you all think about skimmers for nanos?

So I am struggling with ich!!!!! I'm feeding my fishes live brine shrimped soaked in zoocon and fresh chopped garlic :uzi:. So hopefully that'll help keep their immune system up and running strong. I just bought a cleaner shrimp Monday and its cool how the puffer, tang, and clown wait in line to get cleaned. That doesnt even happen in my 75 :wildone:

I have come across now 5 different hippo tang and one of them was a yellow belly. I heard that they are scarce now but didnt know at the time. Well...at that time when I had all those hippos I sold all of them for 50 bucks each.:hmm5: I just found out yesterday that the yellow belly one is worth 350 BUCKS!!!!!

Anyways here are more photos.
