My two piece glass plus plastic back strip 40B top wasn't working since the protein skimmer sticks out into the tank too far so the middle piece of glass wouldn't work. So I bought a 24" x 18" peice of 1/4" acrylic and cut two pieces to fit the back part. Both sides are hinged independantly which is nice for maintenence. I used the plastic back strip on the left side so that I have the option of easily cutting out work holes.
Boy I'll tell you Acrylic stinks when you cut it on a table saw!
