I have seen nano tanks with an internal filter behind a false wall in the tank but im having a hard time finding them now for some reason. Is there a term to put into the search that will find what i am looking for when it works?
Thanks in advance

you mean like a built in sump into the back of the tank? Im not really sure what to search for though... sorry

if your talking about all in one tanks theres alot of them aquapods, jbj nano cube, oceanic bio cubes, and alot more just do a search

you can always buy some acrylic and use that.. I have no idea how to dill/form stuff, you might need a heat gun.. From most threads I've seen, It shouldnt be too hard.

you need some baffles, a return pump, plumbing and an overflow and tahts basically it

ive got the heat gun, acrylic, 10g, return pump and heater for this tank so far.

My idea is to take and make a overflow into filter floss that has to go under a baffle then over a baffle that is 3/4" from the first baffle going into a 3" live rock/ macro chamber with holes drilled into the far side baffle that will drain into the chamber with the water pump that is just big enough to hold the pump. The whole wall will be 2.5" from the actual back wall and will be one piece to give less chance for leaks. Actual back wall and false back wall will be fusion painted black.

Let me know how this sounds

I have started this build and have had a couple set backs IE using silicon with bio seal i have since torn down the sump/fuge and stripped all the old silicon off. Its kind of a good thing I used the wrong silicon in a way though because I forgot to put in a hole for the pump output.

My question now is what size of a bulk head should I use for a 10 gallon tank?

One more question. I see that a lot of people put the first baffle after the overflow so that the water has to flow over it. To me this makes no since why not make the water flow under the baffle so that the water actually flows through the live rock? I plan on using some egg crate to hold my live rock off the bottom of the tank so that the water will flow all the way through the chamber past every piece of live rock. Is there a good reason not to do it this way?

I am going to drill the false wall tomorrow for the bulkhead and redo the silicon and will take some pictures of my "completed" project.
