Custom sump/refugium builders

Well I have recently become the new owner of a wonderful 330g tank. I nam in the process of changing a lot of the current life support system/ appliances because...well... I just dont like the way it was set up. My philosophy is that a well built/designed system is so much easier in the long run.

SO????? I have reached out to no less that 4 manufacturers in the industry with the designs for my sump/fuge. Before I go any further, let me just say that its not crazy silly exotic and just a pretty simple design (48"x 24"x 24"). I have included some of the improvements that I have seen fellow builders use here on reef central. So I do have some specific needs or wants

Out of the 4 that I have contacted. ONLY one.....No kidding...One has reached out to me and started discussion. Let me say that it may go days or even a weeks before so discussions have come to a standstill.



What I need. Is someone here in the states who can build what I need. I am not a penny pincher and not trying to break the bank. I just want it right.


If anyone???? Knows of anyone?? Who builds a good product??? Even an single person and not a company....let me know please.


Before anyone asks. I am not going to name the companies I have contacted as that would be unethical and I just dont do that.

Just google Lifereef. Jeff was EXTREMELY helpful when I was building my own sump. If he was that helpful just being a nice guy to someone looking for advice such as myself, I imagine his attention to detail and service are excellent with his clients. I'm sure he can build anything you would be looking for. He is in CO.

Try John at Advanced Acrylics. Great builder and has good prices for custom builds.

ok Just an update on this. Was able to get in touch with Marc @melevs and he is very busy. Was able to work out a price and build to my spec.


ironically the week that I was to commision him to build. I found a used sump/fuge on CL and was able to pic it up for a 1/3rd of the cost. It has most of the original ideas from my specs and was professionally built..
