custom tank build

ive got a quick question for some of you larger nanos. I was wanting to build my own custom tank. the dimensions will be 28.5" L x 18.5" D x 16" H. Which will give me roughly 35 gal. My question lies with the thickness of the glass. Could i get away with 1/4" or should i use 3/8". I'm not sure of how im gonna do the bracing at the top if i need any at all. Any suggestion are greatly appreciated.

GO WITH 3/8 euro brace it around the rim to prevent blocking light

What exactly is a eurobrace? Just a lid with a huge whole cutout right. Couldn't i just go with a black rim like the other 30gal. tanks you see in stores.

Nah, the trim isn't gonna help with strength.

If you brace the top, 1/4" will work just fine. If you don't want a brace on the top, then use 3/8".
