I apologize for repeating a common thread, I've seen this discussed before

I'm looking for an extra tall tank, 36 x 18 x 31 tall w/ lead free glass on the front and sides. Glasscages.com has a tank this size but the shipping is more than the tank costs. Is there a local supplier who can build to this or similar dimensions?

look into a LFS, they can order tanks from places like Oceanic who can do custom sized tanks with all sorts of glass. I'm not sure what kind of glass lead free is, but they should have it.

If you're in Walnut Creek, I'd suggest going to All About Fish. I've talked to them and they can get tanks made from Oceanic and LeeMar

basically if glass has lead, it is carcinogenic. tank glass won't have lead for the same reason that the glass you drink out of doesnt have lead. The only glass that i know of that has lead would be stuff like Waterford show crystal.

I asked for the front and side panels made from Starphire glass. He came back and said they would be lead free. I asssumed that Starphire is a brand name for lead-free glass. Is this not correct?

Its iron-free glass. All tank glass is lead free, but starphire has a low iron content meaning that the glass lets in more light without filtering light in the green spectrum. The water looks more blue than green.
