I have two Kenya trees and would like to get rid of them or maybe just one. they are about 6" tall and the base of them are 1" thick. can I just slice them with a razor blade? also will they release anything toxic in the tank? and would it be better to do this after the light go out? Here is a picture they are in the lower right hand corner.

There were 2 in our tank that started to get big. I cut them off at the base as close to the rock as I could with a pair of scissors. Some of the rubble I have is small and branching, so I just wedged the stalk of the cut Kenya trees in between a couple of the branches. They attached in no time at all (maybe 3 days), and what was left on the rock where I cut them off is growing back. I'll repeat this again in a couple of months and take the regrowth in for more credit.

They are on a rock that I don't want to move. I want to cut them off attach them to some other rock and take them to the lfs for credit.
I don't know if they can be peeled off the rock. how hard would it be?
will they release any toxic chemicals in the water when cut?

depending on how they attach to the rock. I never have a hard time peeling them off. I never cut them before.

Before I cut ours off, I tried to peel them off. They were attached too well, otherwise I would have preferred to just peel them off.

cutting will be fine . run carbon in the filter to remove any slime they release.
after cutting let them attach to a rock and trade/ sell
good luck.........al

i have several kenyas in my tank, when i weed my tank it is not uncommon to pull 15 or 20 kenyas out. i used to cut them but tearing them off the rock is quicker, i don't think toxins being released would be a concern, if you are worried just use carbon or replace your old carbon before you pull them off.
