Cuttlefish in the USA?

I am very interested in cuttlefish; I would love to have them. However I have just started my reading / research and in everything I come across it is telling me if you live in the USA..... And you want a cuttlefish.......MOVE…… Ok seriously they say most will not survive the plan trip to the states.

My main question is, does anyone in the states have a cuttlefish, and how did you get yours?

Also any advice or knowledge on keeping these would be great.

Thank you

Several people on tonmo.com have captive raised cuttle babies right now. Ask Thales, Paradox, or Shipposhack.

They are great, but make sure that your cuttle has its own tank, I had a lawnmower blenny in the tank with my cuttle until last night, we nicknamed the blenny 'Lunch' because we knew its days were numbered......well I didnt have time to feed the cuttle the day before yesterday, and so yesterday, about 20 min before I was going to feed him, he grabbed 'lunch'.....I got some pictures, and will post them under my thread.....

Ok, most of my reading is saying about 150g for cuttlefish fish. Could you raise one cuttlefish in a 55g LFO tank with him being the only thing in the tank?

TY for the names.

I have 2 Bandensis in my 75g, and I might get another 2. Bandensis don't get big only 4 in or so. In a 150g with the proper filtration you could keep somewhere around 8 to 10.

Ok so one in a 55g shouldn’t be a problem. Do they like to have a pair? I mean should I put more than one in?

Getting multiples so you are more likely to have a breeding pair would be ideal. However it would be best to get different cuttles from different suppliers so as to not cause too much inbreeding.
