cyanobacteria help

Hey every one, I have a problem with cyano and I would like your opinions on how to get rid of it as fast as possible. As of now I have been performing 30% water changes every week, i have decreased feeding, i have decreased the amount of time i run my light to 6 hours, and i have added chemipure elite. My live stock is just 1 flame angel, 1 skunk shrimp, and probably 20 peices of coral from chalices, acans, favia, and some sps. I have also been going in there atleast once a day with a turkey baster and sucking up all the bacteria i can get. By the way my tank is a 34g solana and i have been changing the filter every 4 days.
Thanks for all the help in advance!

My parameters are fine, just checked them day before yesterday, and i am only using the stock pumps due to most of my stock prefers lower flow

You need to increase the water movement. If you have some powerheads in there, you need to redirect them. If you dont, you need to add a few. Cyano wont grow where there is good water flow. You need a good cross movement of water, try to get the water moving every where you can. Then if you see the cyano, it will be in the dead / low flow zones.

I think the low flow statement is crap. I have been battling the stuff for months, and it covers the grill of my koralia #4. That is as direct as flow will get. I'm about ready to go with the slime remover. :(

Do you use rodi?

Cyano is a photosynthetic bacteria. It needs light and food to grow. Wrong spectrum lighting or too high of a nutrient level is typically the problem.

nope, and I am also about to get some of that slime remover. As far as decreasing light and feeding i have and this stuff still comes back every day.

I am fighting it also my lights have been off for about 48 hrs...Its getting better but still in there. one more day then water 20% change.hope it helps.

Do you use RODI water? Do you have a TDS meter? My RO membrane recently died, which caused a bloom of cyano that I'm currently battling. Making sure your water source is clean is critical in my opinion.

Get the blue life remover....

I have tons of flow, sps were growing like crazy, but had this bloom up. I got caught up in PE at night in the lunars after putting some coral food in and paid the price after doing it every night!

I siphoned, I had the CUC, etc. but it got to the point it was as bad as it was the day before the day after.

3 months running after blue life and NADA--I did change my coral feeding regimen too:D

No skimmer for 5-6 days, then add carbon and change 25% of your water. It taxed a few corals, but I had no losses. My phil's granulosa was BROWN, but it is back to neon green.

Don't suffer through this.

IDK i have battled cyno, added another tunze and pointed it tward the cyno and within hours it was gone and hasnt come back. Now it is only in one spot where i cant get much flow. Just my experience.
