Ok here are the levels I tested yesterday. Calcium was 400, alk was 6.8, ph was 8.2. After adding the kalk it pushed the ph up to 8.2 going to pick up baking soda today and dose it. Have to get the alk up way to low. This has been a issue the last year. I'm also going to get the 2 part supplement from two little fishies so i'm dosing in equal amounts. The kalk helped but I cant really dose anymore without the ph going high so I think once i get everything in balance I can use it as a top off to keep everything stable.

Exactly correct, you may based on your usage, end up dosing continuously with kalk with regular alkalinity additions.

am going through the same thing cant get rid of now my skimmer broke waiting to buy another although ill tell you before my gobie became an airplane he kept my substrate clean to where i didn't have any algae or cyanoebac at any time maybe now when i get the skimmer I'll also get me two gobies

be patient, this stuff takes time to get rid of. Make sure all levels are within range. Due massive water changes and keep skimmer clean.
 
Thats good to hear. I'm tempted on doing that but I want to try one more thing before doing that. Massive water changes and I adjusted the intensity on my LEDS. The tank had a pinkish white color before so now it's a lot more toward the bluish spectrum. If all else fails LIGHTS OUT.
 
I have a little cyano as well, but my tank is almost entirely sps. would 3 days with no lights really take care of the problem, and not harm my sps? (yes I understand take care of the problem is relative, but I've been skimming heavily and cut feeding back already)
 
I had bad cyano but after many water changes with little results and a lot of red slime remover I finally switched to GFO and Bio-Pellets. My cynano is almost gone after 2 months..I just blow it off the rock and suck it out on water changes. I also added left handed hermit crabs(dwarf zebra crabs) They are the only hermit to eat red slime and are reef safe! My alk is around .08 and nitrates between 80 and 100( working on that and it's ****ing me off that I can't get them any lower)

AZno3 should work well. follow directions. Phosphate E from brightwell.
