Hi guys n gals
So 20 yrs ago I had a tank crash after 2 yrs of success with a predatory tank I gave up and sold it all :(
a couple of months ago I walk into the Lfs suddenly I'm popping in to have a look every week the a couple of weeks after spending way too much time on the internet I decide to go for it .
2 weeks ago I took stock of my new Ea 1200s and my full kit skimmer, reactor, etc also got a set of the Ai primes :)
Last Sunday morning In went 40kg of live rock 4 bags live sand and pre mix ro from lfs also added bio balls I got from ea
Today I took my first lot of water test expecting to see a bit of something from the die back but nothing all water is perfect .
I am in no rush will happily sit about for the next month monitoring but am worried that the cycle won't start because not enough die back vs lots of live rock etc so not sure if I should
Leave things alone or try to get the cycle going more by feeding flakes any advice would help please folks but like I said not in a rush in anyway to add fish but curious to if I maybe due a spike in 3 weeks or so any advice will be greatly received thanks
Jim

Get the cycle going by adding either raw shrimp from the grocery store or pure ammonia to your tank. If you do raw shrimp get maybe 2 of them, throw them in your tank and test every couple days for ammonia. Once you hit 2 PPM then you can take them out of the tank and play the waiting game.

Here is the ammonia calculator is you decide to add pure ammonia to your tank. I have bought mine at ACE Hardware.

Once all your parameter hit zero your tank is cycled. Some people re spike their tank to 2 PPM again and if all params drop to zero again if 24 hrs then its truly cycled.

I would also get rid of the bio balls, they can be nitrate factories.
