cycle in a 325

I believe unless you used other types of quick starters (chemical or live sand etc) the cycel time of a 10 gallon should be the same as a 500 gallon, the bacteria takes the same amounts of time to grow. But I am not a tech person, just seems to be the same for my 20 gallons as it was for the 200g system.

I believe it depends on the amount of live sand and live rock you put in the tank. I just set up a 125g with only live sand (100lbs) and base rock (bleached). Its been a month and half and I'm still not completely cycled. I'm all most there my Ammonia is 0 and my Nitrites are near 0. I'd say another two weeks. Disclaimer: I used live bacteria starter and put 4 Chormis in at the 1 month mark. I hope this helps...

When I set up my 450 I used live rock from another tank and sand that was fresh out of the bag. I was shocked when I did a water test after a week of having it up to find that all of my parameters were perfect. I had fish in the tank exactly one week after filling it. Like I said the rock was already cured though.

You can put fish in the tank after one day if you keep an eye on your water parameters closely. If you want to wait cycling times for all size tanks should be the same.

Throw a small dead shrimp or silverside in the tank and it will cycle faster.
