Cycle tank with RO water?

From my understanding once a tank is cycled it's smart to do a water change. So my question is, couldn't I just cycle the tank with RO water and then do a full water change with mixed saltwater? Maybe this is a dumb question but I figured I would ask.

The problem with using just RO water is that it will not support marine life. marine bacteria are necessary to cycle your tank.
